640 members of the Arundel & Littlehampton Scout District, including 76 members of 1st Barnham, paraded through Arundel and up to the Cathedral for the annual St George’s Day celebration on Sunday 23rd April 2017. The parade was led by the District Scout Band and the District standards.
This year 1st East Preston had the task of organising the service for members, invited Mayors, Chairmen and Councillors together with past leaders and “friends” of the Scout District. During the service members of Scouting past and present renewed their Scouting Promise. The service was conducted jointly between Bishop Richard Moth, Canon Tim Madeley of the Cathedral and Rev.
After the service, District Commissioner, Mark Hewson, took the salute as the whole District marched past. Following the parade a leader’s afternoon tea was held at the Arundel Football Club which was organised by 1st East Preston Scout Group.

A huge thanks to all customers and members @coopuk for including us in their Local Community Fund. We are super pleased to announce that the £1,584.94 we have been awarded added to other funds received will allow us to proceed with purchasing new tents.
Tents are the starting point for an adventure and these new tents will enable our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to have loads of adventures for years to come. #TheCoopWay
Exciting news about our new tent appeal!
Today we received two donations; £379.43 from DM Thomas Foundation for Young People and £209.53 from the Hilton Avisford Park Community Fund.
A big thank you from us all.
These donations, together with other donations recently received and a grant application we are waiting to hear the outcome of will be used to replace our six Vango tents ready for use by the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts this summer.
On Friday 16th December 2016, one hundred years to the day that Cubs officially started. Cubs from Barnham and Walberton Packs joined with Cubs from across Arundel & Littlehampton District at The Flying Fortress, Ford to celebrate the centenary birthday and renew their Cub Scout Promise.
Like all good parties there was cake, balloons and lots of fun to be had. At 19:16 the 134 Cubs lined up on the play equipment to renew their promise, which was led by Jill Gladman, Assistant County Commissioner for Cub Scouts. Watch the Cubs renew their promise below.

Barnham and Walberton Beaver Colonies were super excited to feature in the 2016 Spirit FM Sleeps ’til Santa.
The recording took place on 30th November and could be heard throughout the day on Spirit FM on Friday 16th December (9 sleeps to go!)

91 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts turned out for this years Remembrance Service at the Lion War Memorial, Eastergate.

All the Barnham Beavers had loads of fun with Chichester Forest School today. During the wizard themed session they lit fires, made wands, built dens and enjoyed a mug of hot chocolate with s’mores.

21 Beavers joined up with Beavers from across Arundel & Littlehampton on Saturday 22nd October for a spooky Halloween themed sleepover at the Sports Dome, Littlehampton.
The beavers took part in craft, games, disco and animal interaction, before a takeaway dinner. After which they were joined by Badges the Beaver for a special 30th Birthday cake and film before bed.
All had a fantastic time, our thanks to the District Team for organising it….. looking forward to more nights away events in the future.
